The Candidate

The candidate needed some extreme TLC, upgrades, and repairs before the electric conversion process.  April 2012 till August 2012 was largely spent on fixing mechanical things like brakes, rear wheel bearing, fluids, timing and accessory belts, and fixing many squeaks and rattles.  For a 17-year-old with 145,000km, she is running smooth and quiet now.  The 2.0L DOHC Turbo putting down about 170hp (arguably) to the wheels makes it truly a treat to drive.  Hopefully the EV conversion will be just as fun!

Another surprise was relatively new shocks, struts, and springs all around.  Newer suspension bushings, and even new half shafts all the way around.  I believe one of the previous owners had big plans for this little gem.
